The Allison Project
|
"Since the studio was established in 1992, I have
had the pleasure of teaching, coaching and working with many
talented artists. Many times, they have had projects or ideas
for projects, but no space in which to perform these new works.
The Allison Project is a performance opportunity provided
by the studio to our students, alumni and faculty at no charge.
This endeavor is named for and dedicated to my late niece,
Allison Pamela Henry, whose inspiration to me is ongoing,
and which I now hope extends to my artistic associates."

Since its inception in 1997, The Allison Project has produced,
developed and sponsored both new, original plays such as:
The Visit by Henriette Mantel, directed by Laura Henry
Four Buddhas by Stephen Hornyak, directed by Laura Henry
Estonia You Fall directed by John Levy
Plays by Jeff Crockett, Mike Woelegger and others
A number of established plays have also been performed as part
of the project, including:
Zoo Story by Edward Albee
Night Mother by Marsha Norman
Here We Are by Dorothy Parker
Postcards by Carol Mack
Performances over the years have also included music, stand-up
comics, paintings and photographs by talented artists. One goal
of The Allison Project is to provide an environment where artists
are free to experiment, develop and perform without any limiting
financial responsibilities. The project is intended to benefit both
artists who want their work seen by industry professionals, as well
as those who want to try out new material before an audience without
having to be reviewed.
