Academic Calendar MEISNER FOUNDATION INTENSIVE
The seven-week, twenty-one session Meisner Intensive class provides actors with a strong foundation for believable, realistic acting. Students learn how to concentrate, to listen, to create and work truthfully through their imagination to fully express natural emotions. This class covers the first three months of the two-year Conservatory Course's Meisner material. It meets three times a week and requires an interview before enrollment. EMOTIONAL PREPARATION COURSE
Part 2 of the Conservatory first year curriculum, a continuation of the skills learned in the Foundation course. Focus on Emotional Preparation. Course designed for actors with basic Meisner training and actors who have already completed the Foundation Intensive. Course is also open to previous students/graduates of the Laura Henry Studio. COMEDY IMPROV WEEKEND W/FONTANA BUTTERFIELD
Improv Comedy is absolutely essential training for all actors, writers and directors. Learn to be in the moment, sharpen listening skills, and strengthen your wit. This is where your comedy confidence will be unleashed. Learn how to make your partner look good, truly be in the moment in a performance atmosphere, trust your instincts and have the most fun of your life. Yes, it is that fun. This workshop is designed for newcomers to improv and for actors wishing to add improv to their repertoire. In two-days students will learn the beginning aspects of improv: vocabulary, theory, warm-ups (both physical and vocal based on the Linklater Technique), group games and scene-oriented games all culminating in an in-class performance. See the complete list of classes offered here. |
